It felt very special to stay there, especially with such a friendly and interesting host. We were very lucky to stay at the same time as some other lovely people and we had great chats. Highly recommend!

Just a short walk (less than 5 minutes) takes you to the beautiful Nabetahama Beach and many nearby attractions. The sunrise views from the room are absolutely gorgeous. For those who want to explore the area, the guesthouse offers free bicycles to borrow. There's also a fully-equipped kitchen you can use for free if you'd like to cook, and even a BBQ area for outdoor grilling. The bathroom, while a little dated, is clean and comfortable. The host, Yuki, is incredibly helpful and generous with his time and advice. He even assisted me with a luggage delivery service. His excellent English makes communication a breeze. True to its name, this guesthouse truly offers everything you need for a relaxing and enjoyable stay!

Situated in Shizuoka, 47 km from Shuzen-ji Temple, Backpackers Hostel TSUBAMENOYADO features accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a terrace. This was by far my favourite stay on my Japan trip. The hostel is incredibly comfortable and peaceful located in a small, quiet village. The owners are very kind and easy to communicate with. I was welcomed by the owner’s wife, who was very kind and spoke English well, so it was easy to communicate even though I don’t speak any Japanese. I got clear instructions on how to check in, what to do in the area, etc. What really stood out is how incredibly clean the hostel was. The bathrooms were the cleanest I have ever seen, as was the kitchen. The kitchen was well stocked with rice, tea, sauces available for use. The convenience store is literally next to the hostel, so it was also easy to buy groceries and there was a microwave, rice cooker, hob and kettle all available in the hostel. The shower was great (amazing water pressure) and they had towels, as well as other cosmetic products available at the reception. The beds were large and comfortable and the room was a good size. Overall, I could not have imagined a better stay and for the price, it was definitely worth it. I only wish I could have stayed longer! I highly recommend this hostel!

Situated in Fuji, 41 km from Shuzen-ji Temple, Kinoya Hostel features accommodation with a garden, private parking, a shared lounge and a terrace. I normally don’t write reviews but this is the most beautiful hostel I ever been. Every thing is clean and neat, the guys from the hostel are very nice and helpful and the hot bath every night perfect plus. The rooms are like Ryokan style and very spacious and comfortable. I would definitely recommend to stay here.

Atelier & Hostel Nagaisa-Ura is situated in Atami, 400 metres from Atami Sun Beach and 27 km from Hakone-Yumoto Station. Perfect location at the Harbour and seaside of Atami, including the beach. Wonderful all day, especially early in the morning and at sunset. Great restaurants and Atami Ginza as well as an amusement area close to the river all within a few minutes walking. The Japanese style room was minimalist but very nice and generous. The host was really charming and I would have stayed two weeks longer there but had to return to Germany.

Tagore Harbor Hostel features a garden, shared lounge, a restaurant and bar in Numazu. Located around 21 km from Shuzen-ji Temple, the hostel with free WiFi is also 24 km away from Koibito Misaki... The view is amazing, the town is really chill and down to earth, local people are lovely. The owner also organize this party once a year called Head for Heda which is worth looking for, especially if you have kids.

Cabin House Yado Fujinomiya is set in Fujinomiya, 14 km from Lake Tanuki and 23 km from Fuji Omuro Asama Shrine. Free private parking is available on site. The rooms are fitted with a flat-screen TV. Well organize and super clean.
