The Pride of Wales
Capital of Wales, Cardiff is a wonderfully green city steeped in national pride. At its heart is enormous Bute Park, divided by the River Taff and named after the marquis that once lived in Cardiff Castle overlooking it. In fact, this is just one of 5 castles within the surrounding area.
Over the road is Cathays Park, a beautiful square flanked by Edwardian architectural masterpieces including Cardiff City Hall and the excellent National Museum of Wales. Another must-see is St Fagan’s National History Museum, one of Britain’s top attractions.
From Victorian arcades to the fabulous St David’s Centre, shopping in Cardiff is a delight. And there’s no shortage of pubs and restaurants in which to rest awhile. Those by Cardiff Bay offer particularly pleasant views.
Also by the bay are the futuristic National Assembly for Wales and the Wales Millennium Centre. Another year 2000 landmark is the Millennium Stadium, a state-of-the-art venue for international rugby and football matches, as well as concerts. Next door is Cardiff Arms Park, home to the city’s rugby union team, while Cardiff City FC’s new stadium is in the west.
Cardiff Airport is further west near Barry and Booking.com have an excellent range of hotels, B&Bs and apartments both near there and in the city centre.
There is not that much places to see and do . Quite small city. Such a beautiful marina. And seaside view. We went there by car so travelling it wasn't difficult for us. We stayed at Penarth Marina such a beautiful area. First night We had dinner at the Deck hotel where we stayed, it was very good. There are many restaurants around and in the city. There was nothing avoid on the next visit.

Please don’t go there the windows are covered with privacy sheets. You cannot see out of them in any of the rooms that I saw.
Your bookings can be mixed up and the chef shouts at you as I said before Gordon Ramsay eat your heart out. He will shout at you if you have an allergy and you have to leave.
And when they commit data protection breaches by putting your details on somebody else’s booking, they say they haven’t done it even though you’ve got photographic evidence

St Fagans living museum was great and loved the castles.
St Fagans living museum was great and loved the castles. Visited Cardiff Bay but otherwise there wasn’t more than 2 days worth of sights. There are more things to do as day trips but can be done from a less busy area than Cardiff. There was a great bit of traffic.

Cardiff is a wonderful city.
Cardiff is a wonderful city. The people are very friendly, and it is a lovely place just to walk around. It's relatively small, so it's easy to navigate, and it has a A LOT of pubs, and bars. The sun came out on one of the days we were there, and I think everyone within 5 miles came out too, but it just made for a great day. Everyone was just enjoying themselves. I would highly recommend it for a weekend away.

Food to eat everywhere from cheap to £££££££££££
The organisation of the concert by the stadium was second to none
I had initially booked the Hotel a few weeks ago and had then to cancel as the course I was booked on got cancelled. The owners of the Hotel were so nice to not charge any cancellation fees that's why I decided to book again. This time I could come as my course was rescheduled. A very nice and warm welcome by staff on arrival. The Hotel is slightly outdated but unique in its way and has its own charm. Nice and clean room with a very comfy bed. Well located right in the city centre of Cardiff.
Lovely hotel in a great location - 5 min walk from Cardiff Central train station and a stones throw away from the main shopping centre which has loads of great restaurants and food options. 15 min walk to Cardiff castle and then you can take a nearby boat to the Bay. Very helpful and kind staff - we stayed in a standard room and it was huge - big bathroom too which was very clean.
The location was perfect for me and my family, the property is very close to the Bay and also City centre. As you can imagine having 2 toddlers and a 7 year space is needed when staying away so this was perfect for us. The host was really helpful and messaged us a list of things we can do with the kids around Cardiff some for free. Clean property and will 100% return again.
The property is excellent, clean and well looked after and very well located for Cardiff Bay area and a short 20min walk to get to Cardiff Central and lots of shops plus the Rugby stadium.
It is set over 2 levels with bedroom downstairs and has excellent facilities for cooking and entertainment, with a DVD, Xbox and large Panasonic TV to both main rooms..
A great location for both the City Centre and Cardiff Bay with parking which was important to us for such a short stay. A spacious apartment on the first floor and the hosts gave very comprehensive and clear instructions as well as good communication regarding the property. Will certainly recommend and book again!
The hotel was situated perfectly to access local bars restaurants and sightseeing within Cardiff city centre. It was also just a short trip away to further places to visit like Barry Island and Cardiff bay. The staff were amazing and more than helpful, always having a smile on their face.
Ideal location for the exploring Cardiff, 10 mins walk to Cardiff bay and choices of many lovely places to eat. Restaurant also in hotel and red dragon centre close by. 25 mins walk to Cardiff city centre. Hotel was clean and excellent value, staff courteous and accommodating
The location is great, there is very easy access to the city centre, in particular places of interest the museums, the castle and Bute Park too. There is a train nearby that runs straight to Cardiff Bay. A no fuss, dog friendly, clean centrally positioned hotel.
Quiet location, easy access to the city centre by walk. I didn't see any reception staff during my stay. However, it was no problem. It was my first experience staying in a hotel like this. The system was informed by mail before arriving and was very organised.
Reception was organised and friendly. We were seen and processed quickly. The room was basic and clean. Car parking was £10 a day. Hotel is about a 15 minute walk to the city or Cardiff Bay in the opposite direction. Had a quiet 2 nights stay.
Great apartment within nice view, we had everything what we needed, bed very comfortable, perfect location,20 min walk to city centre and very close to Cardiff Bay. Definitely we will book it again if we plan to visit Cardiff again.
Very spacious, nice location close to Cardiff Bay with public transportation links to Cardiff city centre proper. Helpful staff on the end of the phone when needing access to the property.
It is well located for visiting Cardiff. Short walk to city centre, castle and park. Lots of cafes and restaurants within walking distance.
